“Escalator to Armageddon”

"Escalator to Armageddon" kicks off with the remaining three G.I. Joes confronting the deadly SAW-Viper, only to be rescued by the Mobile Battle Bunker carrying Rock 'n Roll, Clutch, and Wild-Card. With the team reunited and vengeance on their minds, they prepare to strike back—while back at base, the Twins face the Commander’s fury after botching a critical order, prompting him to take direct action as Cobra launches an invasion of Benzheen. The Emirate escapes, and the full force of the Joes is called into play. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by Ron Garney, with inks by Fred Fredericks, colors by Bob Sharen, and letters by Rick Parker, the cover by Ron Garney and Bob McLeod captures the intensity of the moment.

As the 3 surviving Joes face off vs. the SAW-Viper, help arrives in the form of the Mobile Battle Bunker carrying Rock n Roll, Clutch, and Wild-Card. The 6 Joes then go off to do some payback vs. the SAW-Viper who killed their comrades last issue. Meanwhile, the Twins report to the Commander about the situation, and the Commander gets disgusted when he learns they botched his order to release the Joes instead of killing them, and takes matters into his own hands as Cobra invades Benzheen. The Emirate escapes, and all Joes are called into action to free his country. To be continued...
