G.I. Joe #1 (2013) kicks off a bold new era for the franchise, with writer Fred Van Lente and artist Steve Kurth delivering a high-stakes mission that plunges the team into chaos. When the Joes are thrust into the public eye after a press conference by General Colton, their first real operation ends in disaster—shot down over Ohio, the team is scattered and hunted by both Cobra and a town turned against them. Cover by John Dickenson captures the tension as Duke faces the Baroness, setting the stage for a story where loyalty is tested and the cost of being a soldier is just beginning to unfold.
