“Learn to Fly”

There's something wonderfully relatable about this 1958 Dell issue: Goofy sits absorbed in a book — presumably studying up on aviation for "Learn to Fly" — while a water balloon has just splattered directly above his head on a flat surface, dripping down around him, and his broom leans forgotten nearby. Paul Murry's cover art captures the character perfectly, that oblivious, good-natured charm that makes Goofy so endearing. A delightful ten-cent package of comedy and Disney warmth.
