Four Color #831
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeDell's "Movie Classic" line brought plenty of Hollywood adaptations to newsstands, and this 1957 tie-in to Warner Bros.' Bombers B-52 is a fine example of the format at its best. The cover photographs set the scene immediately: a massive U.S. Air Force B-52 Stratofortress sits on the tarmac above, while below, a flight-suited airman holds a weapon in the foreground alongside two uniformed officers — all conveying the tension promised by the tagline "No Sleep Till Dawn." At just a dime, this adaptation brought the WarnerColor and CinemaScope spectacle of Air Force life straight to readers' hands, with interior work by writer Leo Dorfman, writer Sam Rolfe, and artist/inker Bob Correa.
