“Assist from Piano Stool”

"Assist from Piano Stool" is a quirky 1957 adventure from Four Color #792, where Oswald and the boys stumble into a desert mystery after a fender-bender leads them to a pair of crooks, Hardrock and Shortfuse, who’ve uncovered the lost silver mine of the Havanodo Indians. Written by Carl Fallberg and illustrated by Lynn Karp, the story blends whimsy and Western intrigue as Oswald and the boys navigate the desert with help from an unlikely source—literally. The cover by John Carey captures the tale’s offbeat charm with a bold, stylized scene of the characters in their desert encounter.
