“Fishing”

In "Fishing," a 1956 Four Color comic from Dell, Captain Kangaroo tends to the toys in the Treasure House, preparing them for a hospital donation. At midnight, the toys awaken—only for a selfish doll, pretending to be broken, to try sabotaging her peers when she realizes she’ll be left behind. Art by Mike Sekowsky captures the whimsy and quiet tension of this bedtime tale.
