“Top Secret Papers”

In "Top Secret Papers," the Little King's long streak of checkers victories over the jester finally pushes him to unravel the secret behind the jester's unbeatable strategy—only to be interrupted by a royal crisis. When King Ookle declares war over a forgotten birthday card, the two monarchs clash in a dramatic sword fight through the castle before settling their feud with a rematch of checkers. Written by John Stanley and featuring Otto Soglow’s distinctive cover art, this 1956 Four Color comic delivers a delightfully absurd twist on royal rivalry and game-day drama.
