“Putting on the Dog”

This charming 1955 Dell one-shot captures a delightfully domestic moment: Dotty reclines in a chair with little Taffy settled contentedly in her lap, while their spotted dalmatian tugs playfully at her foot — completely unaware that two surprised visitors are peering through the open front door. The cover's warm, breezy humor feels perfectly at home in mid-1950s funny-pages tradition, and the story title "Putting on the Dog" promises exactly the kind of lighthearted, family-friendly fun the scene suggests.
