In "The Deep Sea Diver," Professor Squid, the eccentric deep-sea explorer, finds himself unexpectedly paired with Woody, a reluctant contestant he wins on a radio quiz show. When the professor puts Woody to work diving into the ocean’s depths to locate a mythical "painted puffet" plant, the adventure takes a surprising turn beneath the waves.

In "Jonesey's Chickens," Woody outsmarts his neighbor Jonesey after the man's chickens munch through his garden seeds, turning the tables by convincing Jonesey to use the birds as targets in a makeshift shooting gallery. The story unfolds with playful mischief and classic slapstick, all in the whimsical world of anthropomorphic animals.
