A man posing as a blind beggar robs and kills a messenger. He sets the city morgue on fire to cover his getaway. Beard leads King on a chase into the mountains. Beard is killed in a fire and King meets a girl who tells him Prudence Plenty is targeted for murder. King goes to see Miss Plenty and gets caught up in a plot to murder Miss Plenty.
