David Gantz's cover art captures the gang's irrepressible spirit perfectly: a heavyset Spanky gleefully hauls an upturned umbrella brimming with water and wriggling fish, while Alfalfa grins alongside him and a third kid perches on the rim with a fishing rod, the whole scene radiating the cheerful mischief that made these characters so beloved.
