This 1946 Dell outing captures the Singing Cowboy at his most purposeful — dressed in a sharp green embroidered western shirt and holstered gun belt, Gene Autry pins a "Reward — Dead or Alive" poster for outlaw "Two-Gun Burke" to a tree, his trusty black-and-white horse standing close at his side. The photo cover gives the whole thing a vivid, real-world energy that perfectly suits a story titled "Gene Autry and the Battle of the Running-W." Interior art by Jesse Marsh brings the same frontier spirit to life on the inside pages of this milestone hundredth issue in the Four Color series.
