Forever People #4

Issue four of this six-part 1988 mini-series puts the Forever People right in the thick of it — the cover by Paris Cullins and Karl Kesel crackles with yellow energy as a wild-haired, snarling figure in green and purple dominates the foreground, fists blazing with light, while teammates in blue and gold, a figure in a striped top, and a dark-haired young woman scramble through a storm of rubble and black smoke behind him. The raw kinetic energy of the composition makes it clear J. M. DeMatteis, Cullins, and Kesel are steering this New Gods revival toward something genuinely turbulent.
