“Dead Heat! Second Lap: A Swiftly Tilting Planet”

Part two of the six-part "Dead Heat" crossover event arrives with a cover by Oscar Jimenez and José Marzán Jr. that crackles with kinetic energy — the Flash surges forward in a blaze of yellow lightning, fist cocked, while Kid Flash and what appear to be other speedsters scramble to keep pace behind him. The tagline "Left in the Dust!" perfectly captures the mood: this is a race where not everyone can keep up. Mark Waid, Jimenez, and Marzán Jr. bring their full energy to this January 1996 chapter of one of DC's most propulsive team efforts of the mid-'90s.
