“I Was Earth's Strangest Prisoner”

In "I Was Earth's Strangest Prisoner," a scientific expedition stumbles upon a mysterious island dotted with colossal stone statues eerily reminiscent of Easter Island’s enigmas. When one of the statues awakens, the team must decipher an ancient tablet to uncover the truth: the statues are guardians of a buried alien base, and their activation triggers a countdown to the island’s submersion. Written and illustrated by Jack Kirby, with inks by Kirby and letters by Milt Snapinn, this 1960 adventure blends prehistoric mystery with cosmic wonder, all framed by Dick Dillin’s cover pencils and Charles Paris’s inks.
