Fantastic Four #521

Part two of the "Rising Storm" arc arrives with a cover that puts the Human Torch front and center — engulfed in roaring flame and radiating an intensity that feels almost overwhelming — while the Thing looms on the left and a watchful Mr. Fantastic looks on from the right. Mike Wieringo's pencils and Karl Kesel's inks give the whole scene a dynamic, urgent energy that fits perfectly with a team clearly on the edge of something big. Mark Waid's run on this title had Marvel's first family firing on all cylinders in 2005, and this issue looks like no exception.
