This May 1946 number from Pines puts the Black Terror — "Nemesis of Crime" — front and center in a kinetic freight-car brawl, with Alex Schomburg's cover art capturing the dark-suited hero deflecting gunfire while a gang of masked criminals scrambles around crates marked "U.S. Army Surplus" near a Santa Fe rail car. Schomburg packs the composition with furious energy: muzzle flashes, recoiling crooks, and the Black Terror's confident stride all competing for the eye at once. Pete Costanza handles the interior art, making this a solid showcase for one of the Golden Age's most visually striking pulp-inspired heroes.
