This April 1946 issue of Exciting Comics features the Black Terror — "Nemesis of Crime" — in full skull-and-crossbones glory, captured on a cover by Alex Schomburg that practically crackles with energy. The Black Terror delivers a haymaker to a masked gunman while, on either side of the action, a crook armed with a pistol lurks at left and two bound captives — a soldier and a civilian — wait anxiously at right. Bob Oksner handles the interior art for "Mystery of the Vanishing Convoy," making this a solid showcase for one of the Golden Age's most visually striking heroes.
