Exciting Comics #48
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeAlex Schomburg's cover for this June 1946 issue puts the Black Terror front and center, his skull-and-crossbones costume a striking contrast as he crashes into a gang of masked robbers mid-heist at what appears to be a movie theater box office. Guns are drawn, a woman recoils in alarm, scattered cash and a "Day's Receipts" strongbox fly through the air — it's a wonderfully kinetic scene that captures everything pulp-era superhero comics did best. A fine example of Schomburg's signature action-packed cover work, and a great entry point into the Black Terror's run as Pines' self-described "Nemesis of Crime.
