The issue also includes a "Spade Squadron" story depicting an aerial combat sequence involving Japanese forces and American military personnel on a train carrying gold. Additionally, there is a jungle adventure featuring a character discovering an evil temple ruled by ape gods in the deepest jungle, where ant-men have taken hostages, and the protagonist seeks to use the temple's weapons to transform the creatures into something else.
Tom Standish and his pal Bud Pierce are vacationing out West when a mysterious villain called the Red Mask and his gang pull off a daring train robbery, making off with a million dollars in gold. When the American Eagle and Eaglet discover a clue linking the heist to the Triple X Ranch, they go undercover to investigate—only to uncover a conspiracy that puts them squarely in the Red Mask's crosshairs. With danger closing in from all sides, our heroes must use every ounce of their eagle-granted powers to stop the villain's escape and recover the stolen fortune.
