History

Exceptional X-Men launched in September 2024 as the final of three core flagship titles in Marvel's X-Men: From the Ashes initiative — the post-Krakoa publishing relaunch — with Eve L. Ewing (a University of Chicago sociologist and author previously known for Marvel's Ironheart and Champions runs) writing and Carmen Carnero (a Spanish Marvel Stormbreaker artist with credits on Captain Marvel and X-Men Red) on art. Issue #10 adds Federica Mancin as a second artist specifically for the visually distinct Sinister mindscape sequences, a creative choice that gives the issue's two narrative planes a tangible stylistic contrast. The series ran for 13 issues total, concluding in November 2025.
