Subtitled "Wolfsong," this 1979 WaRP Graphics release finds ElfQuest #4 presenting a striking dual image: a group of elves and wolves silhouetted atop a moonlit cliff — one figure raising a blade triumphantly skyward — while below, a richly robed woman with flowing dark hair gazes upward in what feels like wonder or longing. Wendy Pini's cover art beautifully captures the series' blend of wilderness adventure and lyrical fantasy, with twin moons hanging in a deep blue night sky adding an otherworldly atmosphere. A wonderful snapshot of independent comics storytelling at its most imaginative in 1979.
