Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan #125
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis August 1961 Dell issue puts Tarzan face-to-face with a feathered, fiery jungle witchman who dominates the foreground in a dramatic display of ritual power, while Tarzan stands his ground behind him amid a group of armed tribesmen in a lush jungle setting. The cover copy promises that Tarzan will match "magic" with a jungle witchman — a tantalizing setup rendered with real atmospheric tension by cover artist George Wilson. Inside, writer Gaylord Du Bois and artist Jesse Marsh bring "Jungle Revolt" to life, and the issue even includes a Dell Comics contest with prizes — making this a particularly fun package for fans of Edgar Rice Burroughs' immortal lord of the jungle.

Tarzan and his friend, Chief Buto, discover that young men from Buto's tribe are poaching elephants. One of the young men, Numumba, has the backing of the local witch doctor, Kisambu. The witch doctor trains a chimp into throwing a spear, attacking Numumba. He then blames the attack on Tarzan and Buto. Tarzan finds the chimp, N'Kengo, presents him to the tribe and reveals the plot. The chimp and the witch doctor kill each other.
