Earth 2 #3
This volume collects issues #13-16 and #0 of DC's Earth 2 series from The New 52 era, continuing the saga of a parallel world where the Justice Society fights to protect a fractured Earth. As the world's remaining heroes—including Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman analogs—face the apocalyptic threat of Darkseid's forces, the story delves into the cost of survival and the birth of a new generation of champions. Written by Tom Taylor with art by Nicola Scott and others, it builds toward the cataclysmic 'Earth 2: World's End' event.
In "Secrets and Origins," Al Pratt journeys to Cambodia chasing the mystery of Henri Roy, his mind drifting to the past and the moment that granted him his powers—unaware he’s being followed by Batman. Batman, in turn, is on his own trail, seeking answers about Kanto, which leads him to Mister Icicle and then to Hawkgirl. Meanwhile, deep in the wilds of Gotham City’s jungle, Scott Free and Barda face a sudden threat from Fury. Written by James Robinson and illustrated by Cafu and Julius Gopez, with inks by Cafu and Cam Smith, colors by Pete Pantazis, and letters by Carlos M. Mangual, this issue’s cover by Andy Kubert captures the tension of a world where secrets run deep.
