“Star Wars According to the Droids Book II: Darth Vader's Vengeance”

The second chapter of a three-part saga, this 1987 Marvel Star Comics issue delivers one of the galaxy's most unsettling perspectives — Darth Vader's imposing helmet fills the entire cover, with C-3PO and R2-D2 reflected in each of his lenses, stammering a very relatable "Uh…" and "…Oh!" Cover pencils by Ernie Colón turn a simple visual concept into something genuinely clever, using Vader's iconic visor as a kind of diptych that puts our favorite droids squarely in the crosshairs. If you've ever wondered how C-3PO and R2-D2 experience the Star Wars saga firsthand, "Darth Vader's Vengeance" promises that their point of view comes with plenty of nervous commentary.
