Marvel's Star Wars spinoff universe expanded in April 1986 with this opening chapter of Droids, featuring everyone's favorite protocol and astromech duo in their own solo adventure. John Romita's cover puts C-3PO and R2-D2 front and center in a moment of wide-eyed alarm, as an enormous green-and-grey mechanical monster looms and grapples behind them amid billowing clouds of chaos — with the speech bubbles making it delightfully clear that the situation is every bit as dire as it looks. "The Destroyer" promises a galaxy-spanning threat and plenty of droid banter, brought to life by a creative team that includes writer Dave Manak, artist John Romita, inker Carlos Garzón, colorist Marie Severin, and letterer Grace Kremer.
