In the prehistoric past, a mutant caveman flees his tribe through dark tunnels, finding refuge behind a roaring waterfall—where he feeds on sound itself. Eons later, when the waterfall dries, he erupts into the modern world, a pulsating mass hidden in an abandoned house, starving for noise. A young couple, drawn by curiosity, stumbles upon his lair, unaware they are the only thing standing between him and silence.
