Doom Patrol #72
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeA wide-eyed boy in mechanical armor stares up in alarm at a looming, rust-and-copper robot with glowing red eyes — scattered bolts and springs drifting between them in a strangely dreamlike blue space. Tom Taggart's cover for this November 1993 Vertigo issue has a wonderfully handcrafted, almost storybook quality that feels perfectly at odds with its unsettling tension. Rachel Pollack's run on Doom Patrol was one of the more adventurous corners of the DC/Vertigo line that year, and "The Prince and Princess of Desire" promises the kind of surreal, emotionally resonant storytelling the series did so well.
