Donjon Monsters #4

May 2003 · Delcourt
“Le noir seigneur”

In "Le noir seigneur," the defeated Grand Khan retreats to the Black Fortress, shedding the dark entity that once ruled him—only to face rebellion from his former generals and the sudden explosion of the planet. With the world in ruins, Herbert must flee his crumbling stronghold in search of a new map to guide him. Written by Joann Sfar and Lewis Trondheim and illustrated in bold, atmospheric detail by Stéphane Blanquet—whose work defines the issue’s cover and interior—this 2003 Delcourt release blends melancholy and mystery in a visually striking, standalone chapter of the Donjon Monsters saga.
