The encounter sets off a chain of events that brings him face to face with the mysterious Professor Piranha, a man whose past is as brutal as the creatures he’s named after. Written by Joe Millard and illustrated by John Spranger, this 1948 Quality Comics classic features dynamic art and a tense, unexpected twist, all framed by a striking cover by Al Bryant and Kurt Schaffenberger, inked by Sam Citron.
When a dying millionaire decides to cheat his grasping relatives by giving away his fortune to three strangers plucked from a city directory, he sets off a murderous chain reaction—especially when one of those names belongs to Henry "Flame" Larsen, a condemned killer with nothing left to lose. As Larsen escapes prison and hunts down the other recipients to claim the entire fortune for himself, the Doll Man races to stop a man who's already proven he'll kill anyone who stands in his way. A high-stakes game of greed and violence where millions are up for grabs and human lives mean nothing.
In "Death Is My Hobby," Darrel and Martha’s visit to the aquarium takes a grim turn when they witness a salmon being fed to piranhas—only to be interrupted by a violent encounter with two escaped criminals. After being knocked out, Darrel awakens to a startling connection: the man responsible for the attack is none other than Professor Piranha, a former scientist whose own arm was devoured by the very fish he once studied.
When Tom Thumb mysteriously returns from the grave—revived by a drug from his former henchmen—his first act is vengeance against Doll Man. Disguised as the Tiny Mite, he frames Darrel Dane by sending a stolen 70-carat diamond to Martha Roberts, putting Doll Man’s reputation and relationship in jeopardy.
