Doctor Strange #65
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe cover of this June 1984 issue tells a quietly unsettling story: Doctor Strange — clad in his Cloak of Levitation and the Eye of Agamotto — is brought low, kneeling and bowed, while a coolly composed man in a green coat holds a smoldering match above him, flanked by a robed figure lurking at the edge of the shadows. That single word blazing in gold — "Charlatan!" — hangs over the scene like an accusation, promising a story where the Sorcerer Supreme's authority and perhaps his very identity are called into question. Roger Stern and Paul Smith make a compelling team here, and this issue is a fine showcase for Smith's clean, expressive linework.
