Doctor Strange #64

From 1984, this issue of Marvel's long-running mystic title finds Doctor Strange in a desperate situation — his white-eyed expression strained with effort as he channels glowing pink-violet energy through both hands, surrounded on all sides by massive, clawing demonic forms pressing in from every direction. The cover art by Tony Salmons has a raw, kinetic energy that makes the Sorcerer Supreme feel genuinely outnumbered and overmatched, which is a compelling place to leave a reader before they've even opened the book. "Art Rage" is a great title to pair with this image — whatever Strange is fighting, it clearly isn't going quietly.
