Doc Savage #12
Part of DC's First Wave initiative, this twelfth issue of Doc Savage — written by Iván Brandon and Brian Azzarello with art by Nic Klein — presents a striking cover by J. G. Jones that says everything with raw visual weight: the Man of Bronze gazes skyward, jaw set and resolute, as military jets streak past his shoulder and a massive mushroom cloud billows across his chest. The imagery frames the story title "The Screaming Sky" with genuine menace, suggesting forces far beyond any single fist to stop. A compelling chapter in an ambitious 2011 reimagining of one of pulp fiction's great heroes.
