☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis volume of Fantagraphics' Disney Masters series collects classic Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge comic stories by acclaimed Italian cartoonist Luciano Bottaro, featuring the title tale 'Uncle Scrooge's Money Rocket' along with other adventures. Bottaro's lively, expressive artwork brings the Disney ducks to life in these whimsical, globe-trotting escapades originally published in the 1960s and 1970s.
In "Uncle Scrooge's Money Rocket Chapter 1," Scrooge, Gyro, and the boys find themselves on Jupiter, where they’re greeted by a curious alien race—the Jovians—while Donald, rescued from an asteroid, ends up under the watchful eye of the Jupiter Animal Ministry and locked in a Jovian zoo. When the boys free Donald, they return to the Money Rocket, only for Scrooge’s fortune to be unleashed in a chaotic decompression that shocks him: the Jovians don’t just admire metal—they eat it. Meanwhile, Rebo, long frustrated in his attempts to conquer the planet, watches from the shadows. Written by Luciano Bottaro, Carlo Chendi, and Joe Torcivia, and illustrated by Luciano Bottaro with colors by Christos Kentrotis, this vibrant adventure blends sci-fi wonder with classic Disney charm. The cover, by Marco Gervasio, captures the spectacle in bold, dynamic lines.

On Jupiter, Scrooge, Gyro, and the boys are met by a friendly group of Jovians. Meanwhile, Donald has been rescued from the asteroid and brought to Jupiter by a Jovian fisherman. As an alien creature, Donald is put under the observation of the Jupiter Animal Ministry and deposited in a Jovian zoo. The boys release Donald from the zoo and return to the Money Rocket, where Donald releases Scrooge’s money in an explosive decompression. To Scrooge’s horror he finds that the Jovians eat metals – especially precious metals. We also meet Rebo, frustrated by many years of failing to conquer Jupiter.
