A genuinely unsettling September 1971 cover by Neal Adams and Dick Giordano sets the tone here: Batman stands illuminated in a doorway beside a hangman's noose while a terrified man recoils in the foreground, hands raised, as the cover copy declares "You killed me — and I'm going to prove it!" Batgirl watches from the upper corner alongside a smaller Batman figure, and a second feature teaser promises "Death Shares the Spotlight." Frank Robbins writes the main tale — "Challenge of the Consumer Crusader" — with interior art by Bob Brown and Giordano, making this a fine showcase of early-'70s DC craftsmanship at its atmospheric best.
