Batman and Robin come face-to-face with a menacing figure wearing the head of Anubis in this 1958 DC adventure, "The Jackal of the Underworld!" — the cover by Curt Swan and Stan Kaye placing our heroes in what appears to be an Egyptian-themed lair, flanked by a pair of suited men as the jackal-headed villain gestures threateningly and declares them condemned to the dungeon. It's a wonderfully atmospheric ten-cent thriller that captures the era's flair for blending superhero action with ancient mythology and underworld intrigue.
