“The Curse”

In "The Curse," the Defenders are mysteriously pulled together by the ancient, malevolent force of Yandroth, each summoned to a site of escalating danger. Drawn to a region where Pluto and his Yellow-Crested Titans stir, the team faces a sudden and brutal assault—only to find the Valkyrie among their attackers, leaving them questioning who or what truly lies behind the chaos. Written by Kurt Busiek and Erik Larsen, with art by Erik Larsen and inks by Klaus Janson and Dick Giordano, the issue’s cover by Erik Larsen captures the tension of their uneasy convergence.
