The "Man of Might meets Maid of Magic" — and this 1980 team-up wastes no time raising the stakes. Ross Andru and Dick Giordano's cover plunges Superman and Zatanna into a high-altitude crisis above a city street, both heroes beset by enormous birds of prey while their speech bubbles reveal a wild twist: Zatanna has lost her magical powers, and Superman — stripped of his own super-abilities — now wields her magic instead. It's a genuinely clever role-reversal setup, and "The Night It Rained Magic!" looks like exactly the kind of inventive, anything-can-happen adventure that made DC Comics Presents such a fun showcase for DC's best team-ups.
