DC Comics Classics Library: Roots of the Swamp Thing #[nn]
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis collection gathers the earliest Swamp Thing stories from the 1970s, originally published in House of Secrets #92 and Swamp Thing #1-13. It follows the tragic transformations of scientist Alec Holland and the 19th-century Alex Olsen into the muck-encrusted creature, while introducing key characters like Abigail Arcane, Anton Arcane, and Matt Cable. Part of the DC Comics Classics Library series, this volume preserves the foundational horror-fantasy work by writer Len Wein and artist Bernie Wrightson that launched the Swamp Thing mythos.
Alec Holland’s life is forever changed when a mystical transformation reclaims his humanity—only for the Swamp Thing’s body to fall into the hands of the villain Arcane. Written by Len Wein and brought to life with haunting art by Bernie Wrightson, this landmark issue from the DC Comics Classics Library captures the eerie, supernatural roots of the character. The cover, also by Wrightson, perfectly mirrors the story’s chilling tone.
