Cranius
Born from the fertile Bronze Age imagination of Len Wein and Berni Wrightson in 1972's Swamp Thing #2, Cranius is one of those wonderfully unsettling figures who haunts the edges of DC's darker, more atmospheric corners. With only a handful of catalog appearances, this is a rare and choice character β the kind of deep-cut discovery that rewards devoted readers who dig into the original Wein/Wrightson run, widely celebrated as one of comics' great horror collaborations. Cranius shares the page with Swamp Thing himself, the eerie Patchwork Man, and the sinister Anton Arcane's kin, which tells you everything about the grim, gothic neighborhood this character inhabits. Collectors hunting the Roots of the Swamp Thing reprints will find Cranius preserved in exactly the murky, macabre company he deserves.
