Swamp Thing bursts forth from a shattered grave in this striking December 1974 entry from DC's "Line of Super-Stars," red eyes blazing and claws gouging the earth as a bare, skeletal tree and crumbling headstones frame him against a bold orange sun. The cover art by Nestor Redondo captures the muck-monster at his most feral and unsettling — a genuinely powerful image that sets an ominous mood for "The Leviathan Conspiracy" within. Len Wein's writing paired with Redondo's art and Tatjana Wood's vivid coloring made this series one of the more atmospheric offerings DC had to offer in 1974.
