Darkness Hors série #1

Aug 1998 · Semic S.A. · 25 FRF

In this pivotal issue of *Darkness Hors Série #1*, the Darkness finds himself entangled in a dangerous scheme orchestrated by his servant Vassal, while Sela uncovers the truth and is forced into a desperate fight for survival. With her mother Galinda emerging from the very substance of the Darkness itself, the two must flee to a mysterious new world—only to face a devastating twist when the rising sun threatens to destroy the Darkness forever. Written by Brian Haberlin and Malachy Coney, with striking art by Whilce Portacio and Gilbert Monsanto, and colors by Dan Kemp and Brian Haberlin, the issue’s cover by Portacio and Alanguilan captures the haunting beauty of this turning point.

Sela discovers that the Darkness is being manipulated by his servant Vassal. She tries to intervene but is attacked. Her mother, Galinda, emerges from the protoplasm of the Darkness and battles Vassal, allowing Sela and the Darkness time to escape. They arrive on a beautiful planet to begin a new life but, when the sun rises, it disintegrates the Darkness. As Sela is left alone with her grief, the Darkness reforms aboard his ship where Vassal is waiting to greet him.
