Dark X-Men: The Beginning #3
Part of Marvel's 2009 "Utopia" crossover, this final chapter of the three-issue Dark X-Men: The Beginning series closes out the anthology with Paul Cornell writing and Leonard Kirk on full art duties. Jae Lee's cover is a study in cool menace — a sharp-dressed man seated with an X-Men emblem at his chest dominates the foreground, while a platinum-haired woman in black looms above him against a stark, minimalist backdrop. Subtitled "The Beginning," it's a fittingly atmospheric send-off to a series that explored the darker corners of Norman Osborn's assembled mutant team.
