Daredevil #18
Part two of the "Purple" arc finds Daredevil at his most vulnerable — the cover by Ron Garney shows the Man Without Fear in his white-and-red suit, doubled over with hands pressed against his head, swallowed by a dizzying spiral of purple and pink while ghostly, screaming faces swirl around him in concentric rings. It's a genuinely unsettling image that captures exactly how overwhelming a sensory assault can be for someone whose heightened perception is both his greatest gift and his sharpest weakness. Charles Soule and Garney are clearly pushing Matt Murdock somewhere painful, and this 2017 chapter of "Running with the Devil" makes you want to turn the page immediately.
