Daredevil #105
Daredevil #105 (vol. 2) is the capstone of the six-issue 'Without Fear' arc spanning issues #100–105, and it delivers one of the most consequential gut-punches of Ed Brubaker's entire run on the title: Mister Fear's revelation that there is no antidote for the toxin he administered to Milla Donovan, sealing her fate as a permanently institutionalized figure and effectively ending Matt Murdock's marriage in the most devastating possible way. The issue also functions as an early showcase for Parker Robbins (the Hood) as a rising crime lord quietly consolidating power in Hell's Kitchen while Daredevil is consumed by personal tragedy — a thread that would feed directly into the Hood's broader role across Marvel's Dark Reign era. Together, the arc and its conclusion redefined Mister Fear (Larry Cranston) as a villain capable of genuinely defeating Daredevil not through physical force but through psychological and chemical warfare, leaving a mark on the character's supporting cast that persisted in continuity for years.

The 'Without Fear' arc was written by Eisner Award-winner Ed Brubaker with art by Michael Lark and additional inking by Paul Azaceta and Stefano Gaudiano, part of the Brubaker-Lark collaboration that ran on Daredevil vol. 2 from issue #82 through #119 and the landmark renumbered #500. The run marked the series' transition away from the Marvel Knights imprint and back under the main Marvel banner. The arc was collected in the trade paperback Daredevil: Hell to Pay, Vol. 2 (ISBN 0-7851-2815-8), which also included the Daredevil Annual (2007) #1.
