Daken: Dark Wolverine #23

Issue #23 brings "Lost Weekend Conclusion" to a close with a cover that sets an quietly unsettling tone — Daken crouches in a cluttered, disheveled room, claws partially extended as he holds what appears to be a small doll, surrounded by scattered belongings including a Madripoor tour guide, a Wolverine mask, and what looks like a Cyclops helmet on a shelf. The intimate, almost forensic composition by cover penciler Giuseppe Camuncoli makes this feel less like a superhero story and more like the aftermath of something deeply personal unraveling. Williams, Buffagni, and the rest of the 2012 creative team clearly weren't pulling punches in this final chapter of the arc.
