Daken: Dark Wolverine #22

Part two of "Lost Weekend" arrives with one of 2012's more unsettling cover images: Daken, rendered almost entirely in stark silhouette, drives his bloody claws clean through what appears to be a group photograph — a cheerful snapshot of familiar Marvel faces punctured and dripping red. Giuseppe Camuncoli's cover pencils and inks make the contrast between that warm, ordinary photo and the cold violence piercing it genuinely chilling. Rob Williams scripts alongside a talented artistic roster including Matteo Buffagni, Andrea Mutti, and Riley Rossmo, promising a story with plenty of dark edges to match.
