“Pond, Sweet Pond”

In "Pond, Sweet Pond," Daffy Duck stumbles upon a mysterious growth formula when a drum labeled "Chemical X-13" tumbles into his pond, turning the local wildlife—and himself—into giant-sized versions of their former selves. Written by Vic Lockman and illustrated by Joe Messerli, this 1984 Western Publishing classic sees Daffy testing his newfound size in the rougher corners of town, with hilarious (and temporary) results. The cover, also by Messerli, captures the moment of chaotic transformation with bold, energetic lines.

A drum containing "Chemical X-13", a growth formula, falls from a chemist's truck and into Daffy's pond. Fish, frogs, and turtles suddenly grow to large size, including Daffy himself. Daffy takes advantage of his increased size by going into the tough part of town to push some "big galoots" around. It works... for a while.
