Meanwhile, on Earth, a NASA scientist and a CIA agent investigate the crash site of Jemm’s alien vessel, only to be ambushed by the enigmatic RT-36258 and other extraterrestrial threats. Written by Greg Potter and illustrated by Gene Colan with inks by Klaus Janson, this 1986 issue blends family drama, urban tension, and alien mystery, with a cover by Jan Duursema.

Luther Mannkin découvre Jemm dans une ruelle et le ramène chez lui. Lincoln, le frère de Luther, doit trouver un moyen de payer à Cladius Tull l'argent qu'il lui doit, sinon ses hommes nuiront à Lincoln et à sa famille. Dans une tentative d'arrêter les tueurs à gages de Tull, Lincoln et son ami Vin déclenchent une bagarre qui se termine par la mort de grand-père Mannkin. Pendant ce temps, deux scientifiques de la NASA et un agent de la CIA enquêtent sur le vaisseau écrasé de Jemm et sont attaqués par RT-36258 et d'autres extraterrestres.
