"La fin des temps" sees the Challengers, joined by the Creature of the Marshes and Deadman, confronting a mysterious giant box that appears in Toronto. When they trace it to a future origin, the team journeys to Rip Hunter’s seemingly abandoned lab, using his time sphere to travel to 12 million years in the future—where they find Rip and his allies under the control of the Lords of Dusk. Meanwhile, back in the present, Prof faces a mutant lizard from that distant era. Written by Gerry Conway and illustrated by Keith Giffen, with inks by John Celardo, this issue features a striking cover by Rich Buckler and Jack Abel.

Une boîte géante apparaît à Toronto. Les Challengers, accompagnés de la Créature des Marais et Deadman, enquêtent. Ils découvrent que la boîte vient du futur. Les héros s'envolent vers le laboratoire de Rip Hunter, qui semble abandonné et utilisent la sphère du temps pour voyager jusqu'à 12 000 000 après JC. Dans le présent, Prof est attaqué par un lézard mutant du futur. Dans le futur, les héros découvrent que Rip Hunter et son équipe sont sous la coupe des Seigneurs du Couchant. Deadman possède Rip Hunter pour détruire leur arme et les héros rentrent chez eux.
